Maternity Nurse

Baby harryWhat type of care are you looking for?

Do you need ante-natal or post-natal help?

Do you need day time or night time help?

We are able to offer flexible assistance to help you during your pregnancy or after the birth of your baby/babies.  We have experience with single babies, twins and triplets as well as babies with colic and reflux, premature babies, and low birth weight babies.

DAY HELP

We will come and help you as a post natal doula for as little as three hours a day offering help & advice as well as emotional and practical support as needed.  We can answer antenatal questions and help you prepare for your new arrival.

For post natal care, we are available to help settle you and your new baby/babies into your home after the birth. We are happy to support you with feeding the baby (breast and/or bottle), changing your baby and general care of the baby.  We are happy to take the baby/babies out for a walk or run small errands, allowing you to catch up on some much needed rest.  Our role is a supporting role and one of us will work together with you as part of a united team, with everyone working together to achieve a happy, settled family.

NIGHT HELP

The reason most people need a night nanny is to get their bundle of fun into a night time routine that suits the whole family. Sometimes, you may just need an extra pair of hands for what is at times an exhausting period. We can be available for up to 5 nights a week and generally work 9pm until 6.30am.  If you need care outside of these hours, please contact us to discuss your needs.

As a night nanny we require the use of a pillow and blanket and somewhere to doze whilst on duty, with the baby ideally sleeping in the same room as us.  If you require me to be awake all night, this is chargeable at a higher rate. Please contact us for details.

While in your home, we are responsible for the overall care of the baby/babies including:

  1. Night feeds
  2. Change nappies
  3. Settle the baby/babies
  4. Give advice on breastfeeding
  5. Prepare and sterilise bottles
  6. Dress and prepare the baby/babies in the morning
  7. Give help and advice on getting the baby/babies into a sleep routine

This enables you to get a good night’s sleep knowing that their baby/babies are being cared for and having all of their needs met.
