Mondays – Thursdays all year round (although term time only contracts are available for school aged children).
Mon – Thurs: 7.30 – 17.30
We are closed on Fridays
I charge from £65 per full day or £7 per hour for a part day and £8 per hour (emergency care), per child for this service. This service is only available in my home. Minimum daytime booking is 5 hours.
Before school only is £12 and includes breakfast.
After school only is £17 and includes a drink and snack.
My setting is based in my home in the lovely St Stephens area of St Albans. This is to the south of the town centre. We have lovely schools close by as well as Waitrose, a splash park and other children’s playgrounds.
My home is a 4 bedroom, semi detached house. The whole house is registered for childminding. This has the play room for us all to play in together, a lounge where the children can have a sleep (and where after school children can relax/watch a little bit of television for a little while), a kitchen (which is where we usually all eat and do our craft activities), a utility room (for washing clothes (and has the fridge freezer in it), a small hall (that usually has the buggy in), a downstairs toilet and the front porch (for storing bags, coats and shoes).
Outside there is a large back garden that has a trampoline, swimming pool (with decking and safety fencing), sand pit, water table and sit on toys for the children to play with. We have a little “mini beast area” too for bug hunting and we have blueberry plants and strawberry plants that the children are welcome to eat the (washed) fruit from.
If the weather is nice enough, we spend a lot of time going outside (both in the garden and out to parks etc). You can access the back garden from the play room, the lounge, the kitchen or through a padlocked side gate (from the front driveway).
I am currently open Monday – Thursday, all year round (although we do take 4 weeks (unpaid) annual leave). I am willing to be flexible with regards to the hours I work and as such I am also registered for overnight care. I offer term time only (to school aged children) and full year contracts.
My husband works alongside me and he too is an Ofsted registered childminder. We were graded in August 2011 and both received “good” grades from Ofsted.
I am also currently studying the new level 3 diploma “Children and young people’s workforce”
